Editorial standards and corrections

Last updated 3 November 2026

  • We cite our sources: every story says where the information came from: an official report, a video or a witness.
  • We separate news from opinion: opinion pieces carry a clear "Opinion" label and reflect their author.
  • We verify before publishing: we do not publish claims we cannot support with a source.
  • We correct mistakes publicly: when we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the end. We never silently delete errors.
  • We protect victims: we do not publish victims' names or identifying images without their consent.
